Theresa Howell is the co-author of Maybe Something Beautiful with F. Isabel Campoy, illustrated by Rafael López (Clarion/HarperCollins), which was awarded the Tomás Rivera Book Award, and named an ALA Notable Book and best book of the year by Kirkus, Huffington Post, Chicago Public Library, and SLJ’s Fuse#8. The Spanish edition Quizás algo hermoso is also available. Her most recent book, Leading the Way: Women in Power, co-authored with Senator Janet Howell (Candlewick) features a foreword by Hillary Rodham Clinton. Theresa is also the author of the picture book series Scout Moore, Junior Ranger (Grand Canyon Assoc/Muddy Boots), featuring a bright, curious, outdoor-loving Scout that motivates young readers to explore our national parks and nature for themselves. Titles in the series include: Scout Moore, Junior Ranger: Grand Canyon, Scout Moore, Junior Ranger: Yellowstone, and Scout Moore, Junior Ranger: Colorado Plateau.
Theresa began her career in publishing as a children’s book editor with Rising Moon, where she helped to establish the bilingual imprint Luna Rising, and published a number of award-winning titles.
