Sylvie Lacroix is a Belgian designer, born in Brussels. For as long as she can remember, she’s loved to read, make art, and tell stories.
At the young age of 15, Sylvie started art school to study illustration at The Brussels Saint Luke Art High School. Realizing she wanted to become both an art teacher and work in the animation industry as concept designer, she did both!
After teaching for a few years, Sylvie followed her dream of working in animation. She became a full-time color artist for European studios, working and living in Berlin and Paris, as well as contributing to productions in Vancouver. She eventually moved back to Belgium, working remotely for animation films and TV series while raising her two kids and founding Les Skewies with her husband, a colorful brand of funny accessories for kids.
Sylvie now focuses on her work as an independent artist and illustrator from her home base in Belgium. Continuing to work as a concept artist and art director in animation, she loves to explore light, color, and nature in her illustration, highlighting the simplicity and poetry within everyday life.
