Adrianna Cuevas is a first-generation Cuban-American originally from Miami, Florida. A Spanish, ESOL and TOEFL teacher, Adrianna currently resides in Austin, Texas with her husband and son. When not working with TOEFL students, wrangling multiple pets including an axolotl, and practicing fencing with her son, she is writing her next middle grade novel.
Adrianna’s debut middle grade novel, The Total Eclipse of Nestor Lopez, was named a Pura Belpré Honor Book by the American Library Association. Her second middle grade novel, Cuba in My Pocket, was named an SCBWI Golden Kite Honor Book and received three starred reviews. Spanish editions translated by Alexis Romay, are also available El eclipse total de Nestor López and Con Cuba en el bosillo. Adrianna latest middle grade novels include the Edgar Awards finalist The Ghosts of Rancho Espanto (Macmillan), Mari and the Curse of El Cocodrilo (HarperCollins), Monster High: A Fright to Remember & Monster High: Creep It Under Wraps(Mattel/Abrams), and The No Brainer’s Guide to Decomposition (HarperCollins).
